REDEEMING THE CHAOS

Baby Hadley’s Newborn Session

After a long line of newborn boys coming into my studio, I was excited for a change in pace!  Baby Hadley’s newborn session was just the perfect pairing of pink, lace, and lovely.   Mom had told me that Hadley’s nursery is decorated in a “vintage floral” theme.  I really enjoyed styling this session to fit the decor of her nursery.   Hadley was such a sweet little girl and I loved meeting her family as well!   We weren’t sure if big brother would be up for cooperating for pictures, but we did manage to get a few shots of him with new baby sister!

One of the questions I am often asked when potential clients contact me is this:  “Do I need to bring anything along for my newborn session?”  The short answer is, “No!”  I will provide everything you need for the newborn portrait session.  I have a wide variety of wraps, backdrops, baskets, bowls, hats, and headbands.   I even have several gowns available for moms if you’re not sure what to wear!   I want your experience with LVR Portraits to be as stress-free as possible.  There is already so much to think about when you are preparing to add a new member to your family.  I want your newborn portrait session to be the least of your worries.

However, the “longer” answer to the question above is that you MAY bring along a few things if you’d like to!   For example, if you are considering the purchase of a “Storybook Memory Album” (a customized baby book for your little one), you may want to bring along a few pieces of memorabilia from the hospital, such as baby footprints or hand prints, ultra-sound images, mom’s and baby’s hospital bracelets, or visitor tags.   I will photograph these items to include in your custom album design!

When you book a newborn session with LVR Portraits, I will check with you to see if there are any specific colors or props or poses that you would like me to include in the portrait session.   For Baby Hadley’s newborn session, mom told me that her nursery theme was “vintage floral.”  So I knew to style their session using flowers, lace, pinks, vintage quilts, etc.  If you see any specific props or baskets or poses on my website that you would like me to include, please let me know and I’d be happy to make sure to include them!

I would love to work with you and your family.   The best time to contact me about your newborn portrait session is when you are near the end of your second trimester or beginning of the third.  I do sometimes have last minute availability at the last minute, so please don’t hesitate to ask even if you’re baby is due very soon!   My newborn sessions take place in my Lancaster studio when baby is about 7 days old.

Please contact me HERE to learn more about scheduling a newborn session for your new baby on the way!
