Laurie Christine Creative – New Name, New Brand, New Logo!
Well, I have some exciting news for you all! LVR Portraits now has a NEW NAME! Laurie Christine Creative! “LVR Portraits” has served me quite well over the last 7 years (!!) but I do believe it is time for a fresh new look. I have been working on rebranding my business and adding some exciting new services for you all!
My passion is to equip your family with the resources you need to create meaningful connections and make lasting memories with your children. Through photography, inspiration, and other resources, I want to give you the tools you need to create an atmosphere of belonging in your home that will communicate to your children that they are highly valued and dearly loved.
Laurie Christine Creative – Meaning of my name
“Laurie Christine” is my first and middle name. As I was choosing a new name to use for my business, I decided that I wanted to go with a personal brand – something that people could relate to. While “LVR” were my initials, I just didn’t feel like it made the connection with people that I wanted it to have. I also added “creative” because I wanted to convey what I want to do with my business in a broader sense than just photography.
I’ve been thinking recently about the meaning of my name. Because “Laurie” means – crowned with laurel, I have chosen to use a “laurel” branch in my new logo! Laurel branches were used in ancient Greek & Rome as a symbol of victory. A laurel wreath was often placed on the head or neck of a of an olympic champion to represent honor and triumph. So, “Laurie” means “crowned with victory.” But here’s the cool thing about my name – my middle name is “Christine” which means “follower of Christ!” Guess what? I am ONLY crowned with victory BECAUSE I am a follower of Christ! I have no merit of my own, apart from the work that Christ has done in my heart and in my life. Victory in Jesus. This is what I want my life to be about. Not striving in my own strength and trying live by my own power. I know that there is no true victory outside of my relationship with Jesus.
I Corinthians 15:57-58 says “But thank God! He gives us VICTORY over sin and death through our Lord JESUS CHRIST. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (NLT)
Inspiration for Families
Another new aspect of Laurie Christine Creative is that I would like to include more inspirational blog posts for young families. I am a mom of four boys (ages 3, 5, 7 & 9) and I fully understand the chaos and craziness of life right now! I would love to provide encouragement for you throughout your day and week that will help you keep going and doing the good work that God has called you to do!
I Corinthians 15:57-58, as I mentioned above, says this: “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever wasted.” (NLT)
Some days (many days) I feel like I am victorious in absolutely nothing. Between keeping up with housework, keeping my kids alive, and running a small business, there are very few days that I feel like I have done any one of those things well. I’m sure you moms can relate! While I may not feel very victorious on the daily, I have been given victory in Jesus because of his death on the cross. Because Jesus died, rose again and conquered death, I too can have victory through him!
I love the second part of the verse and I think it’s especially fitting for moms of young children. We have victory in Christ. THEREFORE… Be strong! Don’t waver! Work enthusiastically for the Lord! Because of what Christ has done for me, I CAN do the work he has given me to do!
It is my prayer that I might be able to provide a glimpse of inspiration and encouragement to fellow moms who are trudging through the trenches of parenting little ones. I know there is certainly much joy, but I also know there is much overwhelm and much exhaustion. May you be reminded as you do the work in front of you today, to look to Jesus and rely on HIS strength. Your work for the Lord is never wasted!
