Are you looking for ways to make Christmas more meaningful for your kids this year?  Do you want them to have a deeper understanding of the Christmas story?  How can you guide your children to move beyond recitation of a familiar story and into a thoughtful consideration of its meaning in their lives?

I have a solution for you… don’t go away.

Welcome to episode #13 of The Family Bible Connection Podcast with Laurie Christine!

MAKE CHRISTMAS MORE MEANINGFUL

make Christmas more meaningful

Each year at Christmas, your children have grown, and they’re ready to establish a deeper, more personal understanding of the message of the Promised Child. But even the most beautiful and familiar picture books often focus on facts, leaving Christian parents with a gap to fill. What will engage the bright and curious minds of young boys and girls? How can you guide your children to move beyond recitation of a familiar story and into a thoughtful consideration of its meaning in their lives? How can you make Christmas more meaningful for your kids?

My free ebook, The Night the Angels Got Lost retells a familiar story through the first-hand experience of a young shepherdess. Connect with your kids on a deeper level this Christmas as you join young Abigail on the hills outside of Bethlehem. Enjoy a cup of cocoa and snuggle by the fireplace, using this resource to inspire imagination and encourage thoughtful discussion as a family. Open your children’s eyes to the possibility of a personal encounter with the One the angels heralded: the waited-for, hoped-for Promised Child.

THE NIGHT THE ANGELS GOT LOST

I am actually going to read this book to you, right here on the podcast!  I will be reading a chapter each of the next 3 weeks leading up to Christmas.  It will be almost like a short audiobook.  You’re welcome to grab your kids and listen to the episodes together.

There are discussion questions that go along with each section of the story.  But if you don’t want to wait for 3 weeks to finish the story, you can download a free copy for yourself!  Click HERE to download your free copy.

CLOSING PRAYER

Lord, thank you for the gift of your son. Thank you that you are the sacrificial lamb, sent to take away our sins and cleanse us from all the filth and muck of this world.  Thank you that you came all the way down to earth… you gave up your throne in heaven to be born as a helpless baby… to a poor family… to be welcomed by the outcasts of society.  You came for the poor, for the lowly, for the lonely.  You came to give us hope and peace. Please help me to fully grasp the significance of your birth, and please instill in my kids a passion for your glory.  Amen.
